Commitment Sunday - November 16

Growing Grace, Building Faith

A Message from Paul Carter

As we come to the end of our focus on Stewardship, I want to say how much I appreciate your commitment to Jesus and to His church. It has been amazing to see what God has done among us in the last few years. Your recognition that the new building is important because it potentially opens doors to greater ministry has been very encouraging to see. I thank God for you and your vision of the Kingdom of God in our area and across the world. May God use us together for His glory and honor.

Commitment Sunday

November 16th is our Commitment Sunday for Phase Two of our building fund. Coming in the mail is some information about giving and a commitment card. We ask that you read the material carefully, pray, and make the decision as God leads you.  For any who are not on the mailing list, information is available at the rear of the Sanctuary to be picked up, or email us and we will send it to you.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is my commitment? The length of this commitment is 3 years. If during that time you want to increase your gift or circumstances change and stop you from being able to keep the pledge, just let the Treasurer know. It is understood that circumstances change over the period of 3 years and that your pledge is based on your best decision for today.

Does this count as my tithe? Please understand that giving to the building fund is not in place of your tithe to the general ministry fund. It is over and above your regular giving.

Do I have to fill out a Commitment card?  No. However, the Commitment cards are for our planning purposes and are helpful to the church. You may sign your name if you wish or, if you prefer, leave your signature off.

How do I give? Make your checks out to Grace Presbyterian Church and put “Building Fund” on the memo line. If this is to be a monthly or quarterly gift that is combined with your normal tithe, please make it clear on the memo line what amount is to go to the Building fund and what is to go to the general account.

Three Catagories of Giving

There are three categories of giving to Phase Two of the Building fund:

  1. If you have been giving to the building fund monthly during the first phase, we need to know if you intend to continue your monthly giving and the amount you intend to give monthly for the next 3 years.
  2.  If you were not involved in the first phase and want to begin your involvement, we need to know the total amount of your pledge and whether you intend to give in a lump sum or in monthly installments.
  3. If you gave a one-time gift in the first phase of the campaign and want to give an additional one-time gift in this phase, please let us know the amount that you intend to give.
Thank you for your prayers and consideration of this great opportunity. If you have any questions feel free to call the pastor or one of the officers.
