On behalf of the Rockbridge Area Free Clinic I want to thank you and the Grace Presbyterian Church for agreeing to provide dinner for the Rockbridge Area Free Clinic’s Thursday night Volunteer Dinners for April 2009. The information below may answer questions you have about providing this service to our organization.
Thursday Night Dinner for 12 Volunteers Schedule – We ask that each organization provide meals every Thursday for one month.
Meals – Meals that are simple and easy to prepare and transport have worked well in the past. We have a fully equipped kitchen that can be used on Thursday afternoon, if needed. Whatever your organization feels like preparing will be appreciated. In addition to the meal, we ask that you provide items such as drinks, plates, napkins, cups, etc.
Delivery – Meals can be delivered on Thursday afternoon, preferably by 5:00 p.m. There is a volunteer / staff entrance on the side of the Clinic near the Spencer’s Home Center that will be open. This door enters near the kitchen area, which makes it convenient for deliveries.
Clinic Services - The Free Clinic provides over 26,000 prescription medications and 5,000 patient visits annually. The number of people seeking Free Clinic services for the first time increased 100% during the first 2 months of 2009 as compared to January/February 2008. Your dinners support the health care volunteers that provide service to many of these individuals. Thanks again for your interest in providing this valuable service to the Clinic. If you have any questions please feel contact me at 464-8700 or lfoster@rockbridgefreeclinic.org.
