Congregational Email - September 9, 2019

Dear Members and Attenders of Grace Presbyterian

In church this past Sunday (September 8) Paul Carter announced that he will retire from his position as Senior Pastor at Grace in May 2021. He also noted that the leadership of the church has a plan to enable the congregation to hire a new Senior Pastor when he retires, and that this plan is already underway.

During the Movements of Grace meeting at Grace, on Sunday, September 15, at 5:00 p.m., there will be a longer discussion of the plan for this transition, and I write to encourage you to attend that meeting. There will be food, childcare, and ample time for questions and answers.

At that meeting (and in regular communications going forward) you will hear more about how the PCA does pastoral transition (it is a congregation-driven process) and you will learn more about the consultant, Pastor Will Spokes, who will be working with us over the coming year.

The Movements of Grace meeting will be the first of many conversations that we will have on the upcoming transition, and we will be sure to make information available by email or the Pastoral Transition page on the Grace website for those unable to attend. In the meantime the Elders of the church welcome your ideas and questions.

Your Brother in Christ,

Michael Anderson, Elder and Clerk of Session
